Details of Andy & Lucas

These gorgeous puppy boys are Andy and Lucas, two sweet little black and tan mixed breeds. They have lovely facial markings and have soft, short, black and brown coats. Badged at GSD mix, we think they have more Pinscher in them.
They are small, growing to medium-sized boys and, although they love each other, we will split as long as they both go to friendly dog homes.

Since being in the pound,  they have learnt what it is to be loved and cared for by the volunteers that love and care for the dogs and you can see by the videos that they are comfortable being around other dogs.

This is what the pound said about them when they first went in:

They were abandoned together on the streets. They are super sociable with dogs, ignore cats, and love people. They are affectionate but need a little time to get to know and to trust people but after a short while they are very loving. They travel well in the car and are learning how to walk on the lead. They are so close, they protect each other. We would like them to be adopted together, a dream….. but they can be adopted separately. Everything is new to them, many things to learn…. you can tell that they have never lived in a house. They are two puppies, males, about three and a half months old, they have already been checked at the vet and we start their vaccination and deworming ….. now they weigh between 7-8 kg so as adults they will be medium/large size.”

They are both very loving and sweet puppy boys , all vaccinated, neutered and blood tested recently (done to travel to the UK). They travel well in the car, they’re very close, they’re affectionate but a little timid and they need to learn about city life and walking on leashes. They’re obedient. They are absolutely wonderful with humans and seek attention and affection, you can handle them with absolutely no problem.

Ideally they should be adopted by a family with another friendly dog. We think children over 10 and no cats would be a good match for them but we can retest for cats now. We can split them to get the right homes but they are used to living with other dogs.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog:

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. This costs £17. If you would like us to arrange this for you, at a reduced rate of £7.20, we will ask you to do a bank transfer to allow us to register the change.

Homecheck:

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks.

The adoption fee is £250.00 for transport plus an adoption fee of £250.00 depending on the breed and age of the cat.  The fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK or Paypal and covers the cost of passport, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.   There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.

If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.

If application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.

All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).

We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.

Proof of ID and landlord permission is required

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas:

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
