Belen is a little cutie

Belen is a rough coated terrier mix, she loves other dogs but is a little timid. We think she will soon adapt to living in a home and will come out of her shell. She is a very pretty, tan and white small girl. Little Belen measures only length 45CM and height 36CM

Breed : Terrier mix
Age : 2 years

Belen means Bethlehem in Spanish. (Pronounced Belaine).

This pretty little girl has already known human cruelty and abandonment in her short life.

She was found in Spain, in the vicinity of an old house, alone and terrified and wearing a ‘collar de castigo’ which is a collar with spikes used for for training .

It took some time to gain her trust enough so the shelter volunteers could bring her to safety and she is still quite shy nervous of new things and people, but her confidence is improving all the time.

We know in time and with help she will change and learn to trust again, whatever she has been through we do not know, but she is safe now and our job is to find her a home with a family who will never let her down again.

We are already seeing signs of a loving little dog. She was living in a Spanish foster home until recently and she got on well with the other dogs in her foster home, she returned to the other dogs in the refuge and soon became part of the pack . Her confidence with people and the other dogs in the refuge is coming on in leaps and bounds

Belen is a shy little thing and absolutely needs another dog for a chum so please only apply for her if you have another dog

For Dogs coming from Spain
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £295 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
