Bernie, a big cuddly baby

He’s a very loving, energetic and intelligent dog, with a black and tan short shiny coat. Bernie learns quickly and just wants cuddles all the time. Standing at 70cm high and weighing 30Kg
He is a bundle of goofy fun, he’s playful, energetic, sweet, beautiful and obedient.
He is a very friendly and loving dog with the most beautiful face and the kindest eyes.

Breed : Rottie cross
Age : 7 months

Bernie was abandoned near the Portuguese shelter. His claws were so worn down they were bleeding so he was taken to the local vet who instantly fell in love with him. She agreed to foster him with a view to adopting him. Sadly her dog doesn’t like Bernie and as much as she has tried, it’s not going to change.

Fosterer’s report :

He’s been with me for 3 weeks, he is presumed to have been abandoned near the shelter. Bernie is a bundle of goofiness. We take 3 walks a day and he’s good on the lead. He’s a fast learner. Likes to run and play

For Dogs coming from Portugal
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Portugal to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £275 – to be paid direct to the Portuguese rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
