Details of Brais

Beautiful, tiny,10 year old, gentleman Brais, is a short legged Jack Russell x Terrier boy, with a white and tan short, soft coat and a beautiful face. He stands at 30 cm to shoulder.

Poor Brais was recently found abandoned in the local pound as his owner had died, but luckily he has now the offer of a kind comfortable rescue space. He is very sweet natured and friendly with all the dogs he’s been meeting and, as you can see in the video, he is not bothered about cats. He is  exceptionally gentle and affectionate towards people and just wants to be a lap dog and get his cuddles. He walks well on lead and is easy to handle. We don’t know about history with children, so we think children over 12 would suit him.

Foster Report:

Not vocal as far as we have seen so far and seems OK in the car. Likes the other dogs here and calm and laid back. Likes his walks.

His Best Points:

Great with dogs, cats and people. Low energy, loving.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog:

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. This costs £17. If you would like us to arrange this for you, at a reduced rate of £7.20, we will ask you to do a bank transfer to allow us to register the change.

Homecheck:

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks.

The adoption fee is £250.00 for transport plus an adoption fee of £250.00 depending on the breed and age of the cat.  The fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK or Paypal and covers the cost of passport, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.   There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.

If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.

If application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.

All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).

We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.

Proof of ID and landlord permission is required

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas:

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
