Casper is a 18 month old Boxer rescue dog with a hint of a cross, possibly Dalmatian.

The slide show captures his delight at being given a new toy!

He is small in size and pure white.

He gets on with other dogs but is very anxious to have his own toys and treats so we think in a home he is best alone. He loves playing with some dogs on his walks in the park.

He has a harness so he walks wonderfully and does not pull.

Casper is full of love for people and children and he wants to play and be involved in all aspects of family life. It’s better he is homed with children over the age of 10 because he is very puppy like still and may be too bouncy for younger children.

Casper is vaccinated and castrated.

Update on Casper from Ian who is currently fostering Casper -

“He is such a great dog, been brilliant round everyone he’s met, a little bit boisterous on the odd occasions but only through excitement when seeing new people. He is great when we leave him, most often just stays curled up in his bed.

He is a very strong dog, we would probably suggest if he goes to a family that the kids are a little older, maybe the 10+ age purely due to his size, his temperament round our kids is brilliant. He will also need a strong owner as when out if he want to sniff something or when he sees other dogs he will pull.

He really does want to go for a run but I’m not 100% confident of how he’s going to be when approaching other dogs, as he’ll often try to bear hug them when on the lead and this can be a bit intimidating to both the other dog & it’s owner. I’m sure that with training this will improve.

From Katy who fostered Casper when he first came to Dog Watch

“Casper has been living with my family for 2 weeks now and I can only describe him as a gentle giant!

He is an absolute angel, very well behaved, and extremely loving. He has an excellent temperament, and is excellent with my  3 children aged 10, 8 and 6.

Casper is not keen on cats.

The only reason we can not offer him the forever home he so deserves is because of his size and strength :(

Casper has been badly treated in the past, and has scaring to his back, but he has not lost his love for humans at all – as I say he is a true gentle giant, and we will be devastated to see him go –  but we know he deserves true happiness.
