Francis is a small, tan, short-coated, mini podenco with big expressive eyes, and the trademark stick up ears. She’s very sociable with dogs and cats, actually she needs to live with more dogs. She is initially fearful of new people she meets but as soon as she trusts you, she’s a character, full of personality and affection.

Her Best Points :

She’s active, she has energy and she would love a pack of friends to play with all day long.

Foster Report :

Francis was wary of us when she got home, but after a few weeks she came out of her shell and showed us her personality. She is adorable, loving and very curious about the world, despite still being sometimes fearful of new things.

She is great with dogs and cats alike, very sociable and playful, and can live with children too. She hasn’t had a single incident, she’s very good. Francis is housetrained and well-behaved at home, but she needs her chewing toys so she doesn’t pinch our shoes.

She walks super well on the lead, doesn’t pull unless her podenco nose smells something interesting, and loves to greet every dog she meets.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance  FREE, to be activated from the link on our website

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
