Fritz is a handsome, smaller, mature Podenco boy, with a tan and white coat.
Poor Fritz looks like he has had a horrible life, as he is a very timid boy. He is scared of most people, until he gets to know them, so it really is little steps with him whilst he is in the shelter. We are sure once he does gain the trust of humans and have his own home and mum and dad, he will make a wonderful loving, faithful, gentle companion.
He was found on a countryside lane just running around very scared. We don’t think he has had a good life if it was with a Hunter and then he’s just been discarded as he was getting too old for hunting.
Fritz is kennelled with a female Podenco and two Podenco puppies, not related, and he is wonderful with the pups and they, in return, give him some confidence that he really needs.
Fritz would suit a quie, easy going home, not in a built up area. The garden needs to be secure with 6 ft high fencing as this boy can climb if he wants to. Another friendly dog would suit him and no small children to frighten him

His Best Points :

Gentle little boy who would follow the lead of an existing dog.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance  FREE, to be activated from the link on our website

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
