Pretty little blonde Podengo cross Poodle girl. She is so cute all she dreams of is being a lap dog. She has a long fluffy soft coat and is of small to small medium size. Since Girassol has come to the shelter she has been a little ray of sunshine. She is VERY affectionate and craves attention. There is never any doubt when Girassol is around. She has the cutest widest smile which initially makes her look like she is growling but is infact her infectious love of life.
Breed : Podengo cross poodle
Age : 18 months
It’s difficult to get photos of Girassol on the ground because she always wriggles and begs to be picked up and cuddled.
Life will never be dull with Girassol around as she is lively, loving, and a happy little soul.
She gets on well with all the other dogs although sometimes some of them pick on her and she gets frightened
Girassol was rescued when a member of the Portuguese Rescue Association was contacted by a local café to say a dog had appeared over the previous few days and they were feeding her but obviously couldn’t keep her. When they first went to collect her she was very nervous but that soon changed!
Girassol will need training with her excitement control. We think that will subside once she leaves the busy shelter and she has a home of her own though
She has not met cats or children- we may be able to test for this
In Portugal can travel to the UK once she has a home to go to

For Dogs coming from Portugal
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Portugal to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
Adoption Fee : £315 – to be paid direct to the Portuguese rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
