Handsome Gozo is a  2 year old, large-sized Podenco X, with a short, rough, tan, soft coat.
Gozo has such a lovely character about him- a super-friendly, playful boy. Gets on well with other dogs large and small At present, he is in  an enclosure with 3 medium and large sized females and they all enjoy playing together.
Gozo loves attention from people, especially the big cuddles and he likes to come and  stand by you and nuzzle your hands for fuss.
He enjoys his walks and he is very good on a lead. This boy would benefit from a large garden, as he is full of energy. Gozo is used to living indoors, We have introduced him to some cats which didn’t concern him, he was scared ,however he is a hunting dog breed so every new cat introduction would need to be done carefully.
We think Gozo would like to live with a friend to play with and children over 10 will suit him fine.

His Best Points :

Friendly, outgoing, attentive and loving.
He really is a super friendly with lots of energy, gets on well with other dogs, at the moment he is in an enclosure with 3 females who all love playing together.
Super human friendly walks well on a lead.
We did try him with some cats in our cattery, they are in a covered enclosure with wire mesh around it.
When Gonzo noticed the cats he seemed frightened of them. Please see the video below of him with one of our volunteers at the cattery with him.
As he is a hunting dog we cannot guarantee he will be OK with cats.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog

Before being adopted, dogs will have bee vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance  FREE, to be activated from the link on our website

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
