Details of Harmony

Harmony is a small, young Podenco girl with the traditional tan, short coat, four white feet and a white flash on her chest. She came to the shelter after being caught in the wild as a small pup and she has since come a long way now and is out of her shell. All of her siblings have done so well and are all adopted, so now it’s Harmony’s time. Harmony was one of the quieter pups and now she lives in a foster home with 2 humans, cats and many dogs, to support her socialisation into the human world.

Harmony is a very beautiful, petite Podenco girl, she loves her dog friends. The presence of other dogs gives her confidence, so we are looking for homes who already have another or several other dogs, who will show Harmony the ways in the new life. Experience with timid dogs are definitely needed, so she is looking for a home in a quiet, nature environment, with an easygoing daily routine and would not be suitable for a social city life or small children. Her shoulder height is approximately 45-47cm.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog:

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. This costs £17. If you would like us to arrange this for you, at a reduced rate of £7.20, we will ask you to do a bank transfer to allow us to register the change.

Homecheck:

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks.

The adoption fee is £250.00 for transport plus an adoption fee of £250.00 depending on the breed and age of the cat.  The fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK or Paypal and covers the cost of passport, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.   There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.

If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.

If application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.

All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).

We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.

Proof of ID and landlord permission is required

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas:

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
