Cheeky, little Jimmy Boy is a fab, medium-sized dog with a short, soft coat. He is a lovely boy and there is no aggression in him. His enthusiasm is all playful, but he needs to continue his training.

He is a tall boy with long legs, very loving and likes lots of fuss. He is an agile lad and likes to be given things to do, so we think he would enjoy agility or would benefit joining an obedience class. Best suited to people that have a decent sized garden and like walking. Jimmy Boy has had some training, as he sits for treats and fuss. He was recently save from death row.

His Best Points :

Friendly, loving and eager to please.

Foster Report :

Jimmy Boy is settling in and seems to be getting a routine. He’s eating well, and he is very loving, wants cuddles and wants to sit next to someone all the time and is happy tol go into his room at night and sleep. He seems to be house trained (we had a few accidents when he first arrived but thats improving a lot). We are persevering with his training as when he’s distracted he is focused on what ever distracts him and getting his attention back to us is hard, but we are using training techniques.

Issues we are having is that he and cat aren’t getting along unfortunately. He’s very energetic and wants to play and chase her to play and she’s having none of it, so we are trying to keep them separate now. He is not good on lead yet as he pulls, so we have harness for him and that works well with him, so this training just needs to be continued as he is interested in chasing squirrels and wants to say hello to other dogs and people. We have been stopping each time he pulls and he is a strong boy especially when he wants to get to another dog, which we think it’s to play but we don’t know for certain.. All this is improving though now we have a harness for him.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance  FREE, to apply please ask us for the pamphlet, our charity reference number is 1400005179.

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. This costs £17. If you would like us to arrange this for you, at a reduced rate of £7.20, we will ask you to do a bank transfer to allow us to register the change.

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
