Handsome Leon is a gentle giant, with a dark, mid-length, wiry coat.

He has a wonderful comical face and is the happiest dog in the shelter – popular with all the dogs and volunteers.
He is a great all rounder, as he gets on with all the dogs and now he is in foster he gets to have more fuss from his carer.
The first four years of his life were spent on a chain, until the animal rescue nearby threatened the owner with cruelty reports to the police. Poor Leon has waited the last two years in rescue, waiting for that forever home and someone of his own to love.
Leon is OK with cats, when they are lying down, but not when they run right in front of him! So, lets say no to cats.

He is good with children over 10 years and he is good on the lead and loves his walks.

His Best Points :

Very loving and affectionate Good with dogs.

Foster Report :

Leon is a bundle of happy smiling energy. He gets on with all my foster dogs here.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance  FREE, to be activated from the link on our website

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
