A handsome young man with a lush tan coat and four white paws and chest. Luca has a good temperament and his breed is very intelligent and quick to learn. He is currently living in his foster home. In Spain he lived with other dogs, and was especially fond of the 8 years old niece of his foster mum, who spent a lot of time with him. He is a medium size dog, and will not grow any bigger.
Breed : Breton Spaniel cross
Age : 14 months
He currently weighs approximately 17 kilos
He is laboratory blood tested and is free from all Mediterranean diseases including leishmaniosis and ehrlichia
He was abandoned in the campo (Spanish countryside) to fend for himself, and was at first a little nervous, but he quickly adapted to his new found foster home with love and affection.
Fosterer’s report :
He loves other dogs, very friendly towards other people, good with children. He is playful.
He is patient, kind and gentle.
He has never shown any aggression.
He is good in crowds. He likes travelling in the car and looking out the window. He is okay left in the car for a short while, he doesn’t bark but he can be shaking sometimes when we go back to him. He doesn’t like travelling in the van but I think he can overcome this with short introductions. He does become use to things quite quickly.
He sleeps on his own at night downstairs and he is absolutely fine.
I have left him on his own at home for up to 4 hours and he has been good.
He likes to have his Kong and try and get his treats out, he likes it sealed with cream cheese, doesn’t seem to like doggy peanut butter.
He is not good with cats or other small furries. He has a high chase instinct, although he has come close a few times with rabbits/squirrels, he doesn’t seem bothered about actually catching them, just wants to chase.
He has very poor recall, especially somewhere where there are things that he can chase. Needs work.
He walks well with a halti head collar but pulls on a normal lead and even more so with a back harness. He loves his walks and will go out in all weathers.
He is an intelligent boy, learns commands quickly indoors but again easily distracted outside. Would be good at agility.
He is an affectionate, gorgeous boy, loves a belly rub and would love to spend more time with other dogs.
If you don’t have cats and are willing to work on his recall, he will bring you lots of joy.

For Dogs coming from Spain
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
Adoption Fee : £ 265 –
