This gentle soul is Mary Magdeleine and she is a lovely medium sized, mature lady who needs a nice family to love her. She is tan in colour with white chest, front paws and a white muzzle. She loves to play with toys or relax in her basket. Since she has been in foster, she has really built up her confidence and is looking for her forever home.
She can sometimes be a bit dominant over other dogs but generally if they are an underdog. So maybe she would be better as an only dog. She gets on well with cats.
Mary Magdeleine was a nervous little girl when she first came to the shelter. She was very ill through living rough and in the cold and damp, and so was taken into foster.
She been treated for a large hernia which has been repaired and she feels much better now.
Her Best Points :
Mary Magdeleine is friendly dog who loves to cuddle and play. Would make a nice companion for an older person as Mary loves to get all the fuss, and we think she would like a quiet home best.
Foster Report :
Mary Magdeleine is currently in foster with an elderly lady and she is in her element. She gets lots of cuddles and attention which she loves. The foster carer says she is a lovely girl and a pleasure to look after. Mary M is getting training on her leadwork which is coming along nicely

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog
Before being adopted, dogs will have bee vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance FREE, to be activated from the link on our website
For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
