Max is a handsome grey, wire haired deer hound type dog. He has a lovely nature and loves to play. Max had a home before he came to the shelter and had a pretty free life. He isn’t a good eater so he gets fed extra food at the shelter but he is very easily distracted and sometimes we have to hand feed him to focus on the food. He likes to play and will chase after balls but isn’t so hot on knowing what to do with them. He’s a lovely, sweet boy who we feel would fit into most environments. He adores his little friend Dora.

Dora came to shelter a few weeks ago after being captured from the local hills. She has a beautiful face and is almost the same colour as Max. She was put in the same kennel with Max and a love affair commenced. She absolutely adores him and will cry if he is taken for a walk without her. Dora is still quite nervous but loves to play with Max and chase the ball. Because of this, we would like them to be rehomed together. They make a lovely couple and it would be sad to have to separate them.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance  FREE, to be activated from the link on our website

For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas

This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
