Miles is a gentle soul

Miles is a lovely, handsome, medium sized, tan and white lad who is such a gentle soul and just loves to be with you. He is a bigger dog standing at 53 cms and weight 17 kgs but doesn’t use his size to push other dogs around. He has the most gorgeous trusting eyes and he gets on well with other dogs and never shows any aggression. He is a delight to have around. An easy-going soul who just loves to be with people and doesn’t stop giving. In the shelter they have struggled to keep weight on him but we believe this to be because he is sensitive soul and doesn’t adapt well to being in kennels much preferring a comfy sofa to snuggle up on.

Breed : Podengo cross
Age : 4 years

Miles was abandoned and was picked up from the countryside just outside of a town near the shelter. He has been in the shelter for too long for such a lovely natured dog.
A nicer companion you couldn’t find.

Smart, focused and gentle.

Miles had not had any experience of walking on a lead and will need further training in this. He is getting more practice at walking on the lead in his foster home.

Miles has an easy-going, happy nature has no problem interacting with other dogs, but has not been tested with cats or children.

Fosterer’s report :
Miles is now in foster as he was getting very stressed at the shelter and was losing weight. Since he has been in foster care, he has flourished into a lovely dog. He gets on well with two foster poppies and cats. He is a lovely dog and would make a great family member.

For Dogs coming from Portugal
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering, parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £ 275 – to be paid direct to the Portuguese rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
