Breed :Bodeguero mix (Jack Russell Terrier cross)
Age : 14 months

This fantastic little Bodeguero mix (Spanish Jack Russell Terrier) was found starving near to the Spanish refuge. We don’t know how long he was alone or where he came from, but he is safe now and has put on a good amount of weight.

Little Nando is tested for a low level Leishmaniasis count which he is presently receiving treatment, and as you will see by the information on our website this condition is only serious to the dog if you do not monitor it and ensure they take the medication as advised.
This is not a big issue or an expensive undertaking as the tablets cost £2.50 for a months supply and the dog will need 5 months treatment a year.
Leishmaniasis isn’t contagious to people or other dogs but could harm your dog if you do not monitor the situation. We home many dogs with this and they live long and happy lives.

Fosterer’s report :

Foster home reported he is very loving and sweet. Happy to be handled. Cuddly and playful.
He has now moved into the refuge and is absolutely fine with other dogs, big and small. Playful and likes to interact. Keen to interact with our cleaners and play.

For Dogs coming from Spain
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £ 185 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
