Noria is a pretty small to medium tan and white young girl who is very good with other dogs of all sizes. She is good with cats and children and would be very happy in a young family home. Noria isn’t a pushy girl, she is gentle and calm and is a perfect “mother” to all the foster pups that come and go, now we figure its her turn to get a loving home. We just know Noria will turn out to be a lap dog as she just loves her cuddles. A wonderful placid girl who is now ready for her forever home
Breed : Small Podenco Mix
Age : 2 years
Noria was rescued in the summer from the streets in Spain where she was being pursued and bullied by male dogs. She was very thin, malnourished and dehydrated. Lucky Noria was rescued and and taken into a caring foster home.
Noria was taken to the vets to check her over. Her blood test showed a count of Leishmaniosis ( Sandfly bite) and treatment for this was started immediately.
Her leishmania is now less than half (600) and falling. The proteins are very good and this in turn helps the levels continue to go down. She will stay on Alopurinol (we will send her with 6 months supply) and this will continue to keep her protected.
She has never had a bad blood result for liver or kidney function. She is healthy and will continue to stay so and taking a tablet a day should be no problem for prospective owner.
We make it clear to owners that dogs with Leishmaniosis need to be monitored to endure the levels do not rise again – they shouldn’t as she wont get bitten again in the UK and as long as she isn’t stressed the levels shouldn’t rise and she will be able to live a normal long healthy life.
Should the levels raise at all then simple treatment of 5 months of tablets will reduce it back down again and a pack of tables for a month is £2.50 so not an expensive treatment
