November finds us busy busy again, we have as many dogs as we can manage but still poundie lists arrive relentlessly! These are emails of all the dogs in pounds around the country whose time is up – they will be put to sleep unless a rescue can offer them a place. It makes us really happy to know that we have saved one this week. We have just offered on a little lad called Buzz or he would have been killed tomorrow – we are so happy he is safe , this poor little fella was handed in by his owner who told the dog warden he found him !! what a terrible thing to do. Poor Buzz will be so confused without his family.
Dogwatch have just offered to help a young staffie girl called Sophie – her family couldn’t look after her, she had caught mange which was left untreated and must have been really painful and uncomfortable. Thank goodness Sophie is now safe with us, we are treating her condition and preparing her for a new home life, she is moving to a trial home this weekend with a view to adoption. Good luck Sophie your Happy Ever After starts here!
Our lovely handsome Kai is still in kennels whilst we wait for a suitable foster home for him. He needs a little help with his housetraing – please think about helping Kai ? He is a lovely boy, eager to learn if someone can invest a little time in him they will open up a a whole host of possible happy homes for him, he so deserves a second chance at happiness, he was rescued from death row at the 11th hour.
We put our name on little tiny Bella last month so that she was saved and she is coming up to kennels in the Midlands from the London pound this week. It’s no surprise to learn that this pretty girl caught quite a few eyes and a lovely couple from “up north” are coming to meet her – fingers crossed for Bella !
We have no idea why Lacie our lovely stafford girl is still waiting for her new home. She is living with small children at the moment and is a dream in the house but she is very keen to get her own proper Mum and Dad.
The Spanish dogs are doing very well and of the 10 that came on the van last week we have homed 9 so little Mylo is the “last man standing” but we have an enquiry for him so we are sure it wont be long now.
In December another PAWS van is coming with 10 dogs from the PAWS Shelter in Spain. We have already homed 8 so they will be assured of a very merry Christmas but lets hope we have no snow in December for their arrival, they are not used to the cold at all – new adopters are advised to have a snuggly coat ready.
We would really like to thank Gary and everyone at Sainsburys for their continued support and for a grant.
We would also like to thank Team Dog Watch who actually ran in the Birmingham Half Marathon – 13 miles Hannah, Liz, Karen and Sarah raised £470 in sponsorship. – well done everyone the dogs are very appreciative!
We are now bolstering for the Christmas close down where all the rescues close but the pounds stay open collecting unwanted dogs !!
