DogwatchUK – Who Are WE?

We are a small charity group of volunteers set up to help other rescues and dogs needing safety and new homes working across all the West Midlands area.

Our charity was set up 3 years ago whilst some of our volunteers were actively helping in other local dog rescues, and we felt that we could better serve dogs, their owners and small rescues by expanding our service to include advertising dogs, transporting, offering advice on health, dog theft and training issues as well as taking in and re-homing difficult dogs, and so DogwatchUK was created. More recently we have also been assisting dogs from Death Row Pounds to safety.

We work closely with the local authorities and the RSPCA.

We accept that volunteers come and go but we are now lucky to have the best bunch of solid volunteers ever who are committed, compassionate, talented, and friendly and will offer their time when a dog needs help. We are always looking for more committed people to join us.

Our volunteers are willing to help homecheck, transport and move dogs, attend vets and raise funds where necessary.

We are based in Solihull, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, and Coventry.  We do not have a ‘centre’ where we keep the dogs, we use four local private boarding kennels that are marvelous to us and dedicated to helping rescue dogs for short term safety boarding, we also have other kind people who foster dogs in their own homes.

We have generous dog food companies and businesses that help us with free dog food that we use for fosterers and that we give away to other local rescues.

DogwatchUK has a non destruct policy where possible, but sadly, in some exceptional circumstances where there is no option open to us and the dog is suffering, we would have to be guided by veterinarian advice
