Rolo is a gorgeous, young boy with a long, soft black and white coat of medium build. Sadly Rolo’s adopters were unable to give him the time, love and exercise he needs so they surrendered him to our rescue a few months ago. Rolo would thrive with active outdoorsy owners, living in a rural area, who are experienced dog owners and, ideally, familiar with Collies. Most of all, someone who can commit to giving him all the exercise, training and mental and physical stimulation he requires and the time, patience and love he deserves. He would be fantastic for agility or obedience. No cats and another dog would be favourable for him to play with. Children over 12 yrs we recommend.
His Best Points :
Rolo is a classic Collie: incredibly energetic, super intelligent, very affectionate with people, very playful and obedient.
Foster Report :
Rolo was unsurprisingly very stressed at first and was reactive towards our dogs a couple of times, but after a few weeks he gradually relaxed and now they all get along well. They all eat together without problems. He is sociable when he meets dogs during walks, but he needs an owner who is patient as he can sometimes get stressed, he just needs time to settle in and proper introductions with other dogs. Like most dogs he chases cats and is interested in birds too! He would love a big garden and other active dogs to run around and play with. He also loves balls and toys. He loves walks and can pull on the lead when excited, but when he relaxes, he doesn’t pull.
With people, he’s very eager to please, very intelligent, a very fast-learner, obedient and loving. He is not shy or wary with people at all, he is very affectionate with everybody. He always rolls on his back to ask for belly rubs! He is well-behaved at home, he is fully house-trained and can be left alone for short periods. The worst he has done is steal a toilet roll!

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog
Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance FREE, to be activated from the link on our website
For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
