Minnie is a gorgeous little Podenco mix with a white and black smooth short soft coat and amazing ears!
Minnie is a typical sighthound, so she is either snoozing or zooming at 100 mph!
She loves cuddles on the sofa and in the sunshine, loves her Kong and antler toys, chasing squirrels and keeping watch out of the window.
She can be anxious around visitors and some other dogs, and isn’t keen on children so would need a home without children, ideally in a quiet location where she doesn’t feel the need to be ‘on guard’ at all times. She isn’t let off the lead for walks because of such a strong prey drive – this may improve as she gets older?
Her Best Points :
Once she has bonded to you she will adore you! She’s playful and loves to chase toys and balls. Minnie is quick to learn although she has a definite cheeky personality she has times when she gets a little anxious .
Foster Report :
Minnie came to live with us as a 9 month old puppy from Spain. She was born on a farm to a stray podenco mother and bodeguero (terrier) father. 5 siblings were rehomed in the UK, she is a smashing little girl but seems to be not as settled in our home as she once was and we can tell the children make her feel uneasy.
Reluctantly we feel she would be happier in a quieter home.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog
Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance FREE, to be activated from the link on our website.
All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. This costs £17. If you would like us to arrange this for you, at a reduced rate of £7.20, we will ask you to do a bank transfer to allow us to register the change.
For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
