Lovely gentle boy Samson has a white long fluffy coat and he stands at 75cm and weights 53kg, but he is on a diet and losing that spare tyre very quickly now. He has a very friendly character. He likes other dogs.
Breed : Long haired cross breed similar to a Bearded Collie
Age : 6 years
Samson has lived his whole life close to a vegetable farm in a field in Spain. He has been fed by everyone as you can see, he is a little chunky. Among his many local fans was one of the volunteers at the PAWs shelter, she has been feeding him and looking after him for 3 years now, she got him castrated and blood tested last year. His bloods are all clear and he is a healthy boy considering he’s been living “rough” poor boy.
She recently took him to the vets again because he has a sore on his leg which they thought was caused by insecticide spray. He was treated with antibiotics and he’s a good as new now!
She took Samson home to treat him and make sure the wound stays clean, and its done the trick so now she is determined to find him a loving home.
He is a big softy but because of his size we think he wont be suitable to live with small children. We don’t know how he reacts to cats but we can find out if required.
Fosterer’s report :
Wow my favorite Samson! He’s a massive sweetheart about 60 kg but overweight, so we are reducing this for him now he is eating a health diet.
Samson is not used to walking on the lead but if encouraged he’ll walk well. So no pulling from him but from me.
As he lived in the field he always had company of other dogs (as the field was a well known dog dumping area) and he is good with them.
Often because of Samson I’ve been able to catch abandoned dogs as they seem to like to stay around him.
He can guard his food, but with his background this is not surprising.
One massive big softy that would be delighted with the company of both humans and dogs.
I am trying to work on his house training and he is a fast learner and he follows the others outside to do their business, we have only had an odd accident now and then which is brilliant progress.

For Dogs coming from Spain and Portugal
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work, even part time. They need someone at home all day, they are not used to being alone, so even a couple of hours broken with a dog walker will be too much for them to cope with. They are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
Adoption Fee : £ 175 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
