Sheena

Sheena is a very large, friendly and affectionate blonde girl, about the size of a german shepherd , who is attentive to her ‘pack/humans’ , and her environment.
She is very friendly with children that visited. She plays very sweetly. Most of the time she is calm, and spent her days outside with her brother, watching rural life go by, chewing on bones and sticks, and checking in for a tummy rub, and of course food. Playing with her brother, and daily walks helped to tire her out.

Breed : Mastin cross
Age : 3 years 4 months.

Background information-
She is in excellent health and is boarded in the kennels where she has been with her brother Bodhram since the end of May.

Her owner had to move away due to health reasons but before the kennels she lived on a smallholding with her brother, 3 humans, 2 cats, 10 hens, 1 cockerel and a sheep.
Both dogs were raised as pets, with the choice to be indoors or outdoors, except at night when they always slept inside
She and her brother would bark as a visitor approached, but immediately looked for affection once any visitor was accepted in.

Her best points-
She is attentive to his ‘pack’ and her environment, loyal once bonded, and sweet natured and affectionate to all. She also plays very sweetly.

What may need some more work-
She only has experience of rural life, and found the trip to town to the vet to be microchipped very stressful, so some careful habituation to anything busier than a rural environment may be needed. She also liked to dig in the garden.

For Dogs coming from Spain
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering (if old enough), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £275 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
