Tammy – a playful puppy

Pretty girl puppy Tammy has a rough tan coat and a delightful character, gentle and then mischievous! Shes a strip of wind and has a body like a whippet and ears like a bat and she will grow to a medium size, at the moment measures 43cm to her shoulder.

She has a lovely temperament and is very sociable and affectionate, with people and other dogs. Tammy comes over initially as a bit shy until she gets used to the dogs and people around her then she is so loving and greets you in the morning like you have been away for months! She loves to play with other dogs and not yet quite worked out how to play with toys. Tammy has seen cats in the garden and never done them any harm and is more inquisitive of them!! Tammy loves children too.

It would be nice to home her with another dog to play but she will be happy as long as she gets all her fuss and cuddles.

Breed : Hound cross Podenco
Age : Born September 2017

Tammy was abandoned during the night outside a Spanish dog rescuers gate, with her three sisters, two of whom have already got new homes.

Fosterer’s report :
We have both sisters Rosie and Tammy in foster here and they are dear little girls who love chasing and playing with Noria, the other foster dog. We think that Rosie and Tammy would make good agility dogs. We are working on lead training at the moment and the house training has gone very well and we get no accidents now.

We are also working on the car travel at the moment as the girls are not keen on that at all and usually are sick on long journeys. We are hoping that with a few more short journeys we can get them used to the car. Tammy hides in the footwell whilst we drive and sits back up when we stop but this is getting better daily especially as they know they are going to the park

Tammy and her sisters all have healthy appetites and usually have all their heads in one bowl.

“We brought them into the house to meet the cats and all was OK”.

For Dogs coming from Spain
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for European diseases, neutering, parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work, even part time. They need someone at home all day, they are not used to being alone, so even a couple of hours broken with a dog walker will be too much for them to cope with. They are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £ 265 – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
