Tango, an affectionate, active boy

TANGO

Tango is a lovely boy with a cream lush coat, very affectionate, active, sociable and playful. He is a medium sized young boy standing at 60, and length  85 cm (23 x 33 inches) and weighing  30 kg (66 lbs). He’s one of the most handsome boys at the Spanish pound but also one of the dogs suffering the most being locked up, he needs the freedom to mix with people and other dogs.

Breed : German Shepherd mix Labrador
Age : 1 year 7 months (D.O.B.: 07/08/2016)

Tango loves to go out and be with people, once he has your attention and is getting fuss he loves it and is calm and gentle but alone in his kennel, he cries and cries; it’s heart-breaking so we would love to find a home for him as soon as possible.

Tango is very active, he has a high level of energy, he is super affectionate and playful. He is sociable with all dogs in general.

He loves being around people, he’s been with kids and he was great.

When he goes out, he pulls for the first 5 minutes because he is crazy to leave the pound behind, then he calms down and barely pulls. He stops every few minutes to ask for head rubs! He’s very attentive to the person next to him, he has a very loyal, obedient nature and as he is also very smart we think he’d be very easy to train. He loves going to the park and he runs and runs, he loves playing with all dogs!

He needs a home as soon as possible to leave his anxiety behind, a very active owner that gives him plenty of exercise and love.

Tango was fostered for a weekend. The people who took him home said he doesn’t pee at home, he seems to have been previously home-trained, that he didn’t cause any mess during the night, didn’t bark or cry, and that he was very good during walks. They have another dog who hated Tango, she was even aggressive with him but he remained calm throughout.
He was taken to the groomer for a good bath and he was also a good boy there.

Abandoned in summer 2017, we don’t know anything about his past.

He needs home-training and we are looking for people at home in the day to spend time walking and spending time with him, he would very likely benefit from being homed with another dog for canine company.

For Dogs coming from Spain and Portugal
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog- microchip, passport, vaccines, tests for S European diseases, neutering, parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from Spain or Portugal to people who work, even part time. They need someone at home all day, they are not used to being alone, so even a couple of hours broken with a dog walker will be too much for them to cope with. They are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.

Adoption Fee : £ 275     – to be paid direct to the Spanish rescue to cover travel costs via UK bank account
