Danny started life scavenging for scraps, terrified of people. A kind volunteer began leaving out food for him and he would eat it and even play with her dogs, but he would bolt the second she got close. When a cruel neighbour started throwing stones at him and threatening his life, she knew she had to save him from that place and move him urgently.
When he arrived in foster care, Danny was a different kind of broken — frozen with fear, hiding in corners, too scared even to be moved. But with his foster housemates by his side, Danny slowly started to come back to life.
Fast forward a few weeks, and this boy is unrecognisable. He is now playful, affectionate, cheerful, and SO ready to give and receive love. He’s still a little shy in new places and with loud noises which is understandable but he’s intelligent, eager to learn, and already walking beautifully on the lead, trotting alongside a bike, and settling nicely in the car.
Danny didn’t have an easy start, but he never stopped trusting that good things were possible. Now he just needs someone to give him the home he’s been waiting for. And needs someone with time and patience to let him blossom.

In foster in Spain now – can travel to UK in July onwards
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young, then the new owners will need to ensure this is done and proof sent to us once complete. All dogs are microchipped
All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. DogwatchUk does this on your behalf so that we know that its been done.
The adoption fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK (or Paypal) and covers the cost of passport, bloods, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.
If you are adopting a UK dog then the process is still the same but there will be no bloods or passport or transport costs.
If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.
If the application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.
Our checker will be given your details to contact you. All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).
We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.
Proof of ID and landlord permission (if applicable) is required
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
