Hoobee is handsome, 11-12 years old, medium-sized cross breed lad, with a black and tan, short coat, very much like a GSD x. He was originally from Spain many years ago and all this time he has lived with three other dogs in the Uk, of which one is his great pal PIP (photo of PIP included below).
Because of a marriage break up all three dogs needed to be rehomed and its obviously worse for the oldies who have lived together for much of their life, and Hoobee and Pip went together to another rescue that we work with and are still waiting for that forever home together.
Hoobee is good on the lead, but he will bark at other dogs if approached by new dogs he has not met before. He has a very soft nature, so we think this is a defence mechanism. Once he knows the dog, he is fine. He has never been a problem, and once he knows the other dog will not attack him, he is fine with them.
Hoobee is a loving dog but likes his own space and is a bit more independent. He loves walks, but can not be let off the lead as he likes to chase and hunt. His little mate is PIP, and we are hoping that the two calm gentle dogs will be offered a home together.
Hoobee and Pip were loved by their owners very much and they thought he and Pip would be with them for life.
As he was a rescue dog from Spain used for hunting, he will chase (even at his age he likes to run) so cannot be homed with cats / chickens etc.
As we said earlier, he is a loving dog, and he loves fuss and nothing better than to sit in a comfy place on the sofa. Hoobee would be best in a quiet home with retired adults, and older children or no children at all. Would suit someone who is home and needs a pair of companions, and not someone who has cats.
His Best Points :
Friendly loving and walks well on lead.

Adopting A DogWatch UK Rescue Dog
Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young the new owners will need to ensure this is done.
All dogs are microchipped
All new owners can apply for 4 weeks Pet Insurance FREE, to be activated from the link on our website
For Rescue Dogs coming from overseas
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.
We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
