Grady – English Pointer
Our very handsome English Pointer boy Grady is still waiting for someone to fall in love with him….
 
Grady, who is approximately 18 months old, is a lovely, friendly and very affectionate medium-sized boy, with a white and tan soft coat, who recently come into our care after his owner didn’t want him anymore.
 
Grady loves his kennel-mates and loves meeting people (which means extra hugs!) At the moment, the dogs are all trying to stay cool as its been 42 degrees in the shelter! And no one feels like playing.
 
Grady is now neutered and has his vaccinations and passport, so can travel to the right home – his blood tests have also come back clear. He’s been a very clean boy in his pen and is very good on his lead and a big plus is that he is good with cats and children, so basically an all round good boy, all he needs now is a new home. He is a wonderful boy who just adores people.  
 
We are looking for a family with an outdoors interest and an adequate garden size for him, who may have another friendly dog for play. He can be an only dog if the family are work at home, and children over 8 years.

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young, then the new owners will need to ensure this is done and proof sent to us once complete. All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. DogwatchUk does this on your behalf so that we know that its been done.

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks which are carried out via a video call. There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK (or Paypal) and covers the cost of passport, bloods, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.
If you are adopting a UK dog then the process is still the same but there will be no bloods or passport or transport costs.
If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.
If the application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.
Our checker will be given your details to contact you. All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).
We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.
Proof of ID and landlord permission (if applicable) is required
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.

We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.

Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
