This lovely, gentle, large lad is Leo, a 3 year old Spanish Mastin. He has a beautiful, thick, Honey Tiger marking on his coat, white chest and unusual facial markings. This handsome boy came to our attention because he has been waiting in a pound so long for a new home!
Leo is beautifully trained, used to living inside, and a striking looking dog with a beautiful coat, affectionate with people and social with other dogs. He is affectionate and quite playful, calm, and avoids conflict. He walks perfectly well on a leash and is currently in a private boarding facility with other dogs.
Leo is wary of men for the first few days of living with him and so we flag this to ask new owners to be patient with this as he may bark, as it soon changes. He needs to have space to trust men.
Due to Leo’s size, we think he is better homed with children over 10 years and he can live with other dogs or as an only dog. He is used to the lead he will thrive in a rural environment, maybe a farm, small holding or large gardens, and a family used to walking or other outside activities. He ignores cats.

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks which are carried out via a video call. There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK (or Paypal) and covers the cost of passport, bloods, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.
If you are adopting a UK dog then the process is still the same but there will be no bloods or passport or transport costs.
If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.
If the application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.

We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.
Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
