Nea – Podenco
Beautiful Nea is a tan and white, medium-sized, rough coated Podenco lady, who is very sweet and calm. Nea is a happy girl, full of beans with a very excited goofy ‘smile’ for you when you get home. She loves to run, swim and chase a ball. Very cuddly with her humans (especially first thing in the morning) and adores a belly rub. She walks nicely in her harness and enjoys swimming in rivers and the sea. 
 
She is perfect in the home but poor Nea is looking for a change of owner because due to her uncertainly and lack of confidence, her female owner is unable to handle her properly once she meets other dogs on her walks. Despite walking perfectly on her lead in quiet areas, she feels threatened by other dogs and so reacts. A trainer or a experienced owner used to this would be able to work with Nea and help her feel less threastened when meeting other dogs. Maybe also a less busy environment where Nea can get her less stressful and more remote walks. 
 
Nea hasn’t lived with young children before, but she has a nice nature with her family so we think children over 14 years. Nea has lived with another dog in the past (and reactive dogs out are able to live happily with their own pack in a home) but it may be easier to say only dog home. Nea has lived with cats

Before being adopted, dogs will have been vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.
If old enough they will have been neutered, if too young, then the new owners will need to ensure this is done and proof sent to us once complete. All dogs are microchipped

All new owners will need to change their new dogs microchip information to their contact details. DogwatchUk does this on your behalf so that we know that its been done.

All our adoptions are subject to successful homechecks which are carried out via a video call. There is now a deposit for all homechecks of £25 which is deducted from the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid via bank transfer to the UK (or Paypal) and covers the cost of passport, bloods, microchip, vaccines and neutering (if over 6 months) also transport costs/taxes from Spain to the UK.
If you are adopting a UK dog then the process is still the same but there will be no bloods or passport or transport costs.
If the homecheck fails the £25 will be reimbursed.
If the application is withdraw after the homecheck this is non refundable.
Our checker will be given your details to contact you. All homechecks are now conducted virtually and will be undertaken via video call (using skype, zoom or equivalent).
We will need to meet ALL members of the family living at the address, including children.
Proof of ID and landlord permission (if applicable) is required
This adoption fee is a contribution towards the costs of rescuing the dog including
– microchip, pet passport, vaccines, tests for South European diseases, neutering (IF OLD ENOUGH), parasite treatment and transport to the UK.

We can not home dogs from overseas to people who work full time or long hours, unless some sort of doggy day care is offered. They need someone at home a lot of the day, they are not used to being alone for long periods. A dog walker for an hour out of the day is not enough.

Leaving dogs a long time on their own means they are highly likely to develop separation anxiety which is distressing for them and everyone in their new home.
